PERSONAL TRAINER / Nyambe studied personal training and sports massage at Premier International and subsequently went on to set up One Life Personal Training. He has always been passionate about helping people and in his work as a personal trainer he has a wealth of experience helping clients to achieve optimal health and fitness. His professional, enthusiastic and friendly approach will encourage clients to feel at ease and motivate them to achieve and surpass their fitness goals. He continues to broaden his knowledge, specializing in core strength and rehabilitation, and is able to utilize his practical experience and the latest training methods to design effective programs that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual. Nyambe strongly believes in a holistic approach to fitness and well-being that takes into account the physical, mental and emotional elements of training. His ability to get people to put mind over matter and develop a positive attitude has been the key to success for many of his clients. Training body and mind, movement and muscle as one is the ethos behind One Life Personal Training.
YOGA INSTRUCTOR & PERSONAL TRAINER / Rowan is an experienced yoga teacher with a background in yoga, body work and contemporary dance. She trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance and The Forge Yoga Centre before taking a yoga teaching diploma in India. She has been teaching in various settings around the UK since 2002 and is now based at one life studio. Rowan brings to her teaching an in-depth knowledge of body alignment and posture as well as an emphasis on continuous fluid movement and breathing. She is a strong believer in the benefits of yoga for all and at the heart of her teaching is safe practice and sensitivity to individual needs. Rowan Opened One Life Studio with Nyambe Ikasaya with the aim to create a centre where personal training, yoga, pilates and holistic therapies could be brought under one roof in a friendly and relaxing environment. Rowan has been working in health and fitness for over ten years, teaching yoga and one to one yoga. She qualified as a personal trainer with Premier International in 2015, specializing in kettle bell training, circuits,functional fitnes and postural analysis. Rowan offers a holistic approach to training that incorporates healthy lifestyle and nutritional advice and helps clients to improve strength, lose weight, tone up and reduce risks of injury through improved posture and flexibility. Rowan draws on her background as a dancer, yoga teacher and massage therapist to offer training sessions that are creative, challenging and effective.
YOGA & PILATES INSTRUCTOR & PERSONAL TRAINER / Lucy has been studying yoga since 1992 and became a student of Iyengar yoga in 1999. She qualified as an Introductory level 2 Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2006 and has been teaching classes ever since. She has studied in India with the Iyengars at the Ramamani Institute as well as attending courses with senior Indian yoga teachers both here and abroad. Her classes are challenging without being intimidating or overwhelming, detailed and precise with a great deal of hands on adjustments. Lucy qualified as a Pilates teacher in 2000 and has been teaching group classes and one to one sessions ever since. Constantly updating her training and learning she she became an advanced instructor in 2003, and has since qualified to teach Pilates on the ball and post natal. Lucy caters for the needs of the individual student taking into account possible constraints and injuries they may have, ensuring each student gets the attention they need. Lucy has been working as a fitness professional since 1998 and qualified as a personal trainer in 1999. She constantly strives to improve and update her skills base, attending courses on advanced body conditioning, boxing and combat training, pre and post natal exercise and special populations. She qualified as a pilates instructor in 2002 and an Iyengar yoga instructor in 2006. During her career she has worked with an extremely varied client base which has enabled her to utilize all of her skills. She specializes in Postural Correction, Injury rehabilitation and Post-natal conditioning. As well as offering one to one Pilates and Iyengar Yoga lessons. Lucy ran her own centre in Cornwall and Joined one life studio in 2011 after moving to London.
PERSONAL TRAINER / Will FletcherAfter completing a degree in Criminology Will made the decision to follow his lifelong passion for health and fitness by becoming a Personal Trainer. He qualified as a Personal Trainer with Premier in 2011 and followed this up by qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2012. Since this time Will has been working with One Life Studio. Will helps his clients achieve their personal goals and go beyond their expectations using a combination of exercise and massage designed to boost energy, develop strength and core stability, reduce weight and stress levels. His calm yet enthusiastic approach helps motivate clients to take on new challenges. Whether it’s losing weight, completing your first run or improving your flexibility and core strength, training with Will is challenging and fun.
PILATES INSTRUCTOR / Mara Vivas is a comprehensively qualified Pilates teacher with a career in movement and dance.Her lifelong fascination with the body in motion, and her need to maintain a healthy, injury-free body led her to train as Pilates teacher with Body Arts & Science International (BASI).Mara splits her time between teaching and her postgraduate studies at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place). Her constant exposure to somatic practices has strongly influenced her teaching. Her class emphasizes flow, with focus on breath and ease of movement. She believes that this leads to a more integrated use of the body, improving both strength and flexibility. Since her arrival in the UK she has continued to dance and choreograph, bringing her continuing movement exploration, and a sense of creativity and play to her class.
YOGA INSTRUCTOR / Florentina originally trained in the field of holistic bodywork and healing and has been an avid practitioner of yoga and meditation for over 20 years. She finds integrating these practices into daily living to be joyful and empowering tools that have supported her through the physical demands of bodywork, two pregnancies and various injuries.Her enthusiasm for yoga, lead her to take the teacher training in Hatha yoga with YogaCampus in London. Flo’s classes bring together the components of Vinyasa flow, pranayama and meditation with attention to alignment and mindfulness. She highlights awareness of the subtle-body’s energy to harness vitality and bring balance to mind, body, spirit and emotions. Her classes also convey the restorative and healing aspects of yoga that is the perfect antidote to the fast pace of city living. Flo also teaches therapeutic one to one yoga and is registered with Yoga Alliance.
YOGA INSTRUCTOR / Sarah's classes use breathing to guide each movement, she teaches a fusion of hatha and vinyasa yoga - flowing sequences that build strength and increase mobility within the body. For her a regular yoga practice builds stamina, improves concentration, and also calms the nervous system - relieving anxiety and stress. Sarah has practiced yoga for 15 years and recently trained with Jean Hall and Mimi Kuo Deemer at Triyoga for a teacher training certificate (BWY & Yoga Alliance).Her classes allow students to embody the postures, with a focus on safe anatomical alignment and bring a sense of ease & awareness to different areas of the body. Sarah invites you to experience Yoga as a moving meditation that unites the mind and the body, giving you an overall feeling of being physically energised, internally nourished and most of all happy. PILATES INSTRUCTOR / Nadia discovered Pilates ten years ago while searching for a way to manage her own low back pain. she tried everything from physiotherapy to acupuncture but nothing came close to giving her the consistent and lasting pain relief that she got from Pilates. Nadias devotion to the Pilates method lead her to train with Body Control Pilates, enableing her to share the benefits with others.She works in a personalised way to help clients achieve their specific goals and needs, whatever their current ability or experience. Nadias experience of closely working with physiotherapists and osteopaths, in addition to her own history of back pain, has greatly influenced her teaching approach.She is trained and experienced in working with a wide range of conditions, such as back pain, osteoporosis, arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and scoliosis. Nadia is a member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA) and hold an advanced Level 3 qualification in Pilates Matwork on the Register of Exercise Professionals. She is also certified to teach on all Pilates studio equipment, including Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Ladder Barrel and in both pre and postnatal Pilates.
YOGA INSTRUCTOR FOR KIDS / Esme has trained with BWY and the Special Yoga Centre and is certified to teach Yoga and mindfulness to Children. She is trained in first aid for children and babies and has a full DBS check. Esme was introduced to yoga and meditation from a very early age and has continued this practice through childhood/teens/adulthood and through her first pregnancy. She continues to practice with her son, who is now four years old. He has been her main inspiration throughout her learning and she has been able to see the benefits, first hand, of Yoga and Mindfulness for children. Before deciding to train as a Yoga teacher, Esme has spent 10 years working in the fashion industry after completing her BA Hons in Fashion at Central Saint Martins.
OSTEOPATH / Leo is an experienced physical therapist practicing since 2005. He is a registered Osteopath using Structural, Classical, Visceral and Cranial techniques in his osteopathic treatments. Leo is also an experienced massage therapist, yoga and Pilates teacher. He has experience in treating a wide range of complaints, including acute and chronic back & neck pain, minor sports injuries, joint pains, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, arthritic pain and poor digestion. In addition, he uses corrective yoga and clinical Pilates as a tool for rehabilitation.
