PERSONAL TRAINER / Ask her to describe herself and Brigette will tell you she’s imaginative and analytical. Small wonder, then, that she compares her role as personal trainer to being an engineer. “You’re engineering a better body composition, state of mind and overall wellbeing. We’re building understanding, constantly learning and developing to build our clients’ health.” She sees Eqvvs as the perfect place to do just that: “There is a sense of genuine warmth, openness, and acceptance here. There trainers and clients come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, with varying influences, but this is the one place where it all comes together. Eqvvs is the only fitness studio I’ve ever been where you feel both clients and the Eqvvs team are mutually satisfied with the training environment and outcome.”
PERSONAL TRAINER / Claudia returned to the UK in 2013, having spent 5 years studying and “treading the boards” over in America. As well as being a certified personal trainer (NASM-CPT) and fitness instructor, she is also a trained dancer and musical theatre performer and loves to incorporate her knowledge of dance and the way the body works into her workouts. She is inspired by a number of techniques she learned on the sunny side of the pond in LA, but is a strong believer that you can never know it all and is hungry to continue developing and honing her craft. In her opinion, working out should never be a chore, or you simply won’t do it. It is hugely important for a workout to be fun (in a bizarre kind of way!), with lots of variety, encouragement and great results. Everybody has the ability to make a change in their life and when you start looking and feeling better, she has done her job. The feel-good endorphins at the end of the workout are just a bonus!! Through her inexhaustible energy and radiant charisma she hopes to inspire people to keep moving and ultimately change their lives through exercise. Lots of sweat, a big smile and endless positivity accompany her to her sessions and if you leave the same way, she is a happy gal! She is never short on words of encouragement and always aims to make sure people feel comfortable and confident as they shape their body and have fun while doing it.
PERSONAL TRAINER / He’s been at the forefront of personal training in London since 1998. He’s opened and operated several high profile studios across London. And his reputation for recruiting, training and developing the very best personal trainers ensures that when the leading commercial operators are hiring, they ask Mark to find the right people for them. Yet, if you ask Mark what gives him a buzz, his answer is simple. “Well, coming to work in shorts every day is still pretty cool.” A graduate in Sport & Exercise Science specialising in biomechanics, Mark mixes a scientific attention to detail with a dynamic, fun approach to training. “It’s got to be fun. Why would you come back if it wasn’t? Fun is what keeps you eager until the results really start to show. Fun is what makes reaching your goals easier.” Mark is a passionate believer that trainers should bring their own styles and techniques to their work. “That’s what makes Eqvvs distinctive. We try to foster an environment where trainers are happy to share their ideas, discuss new techniques and learn from each other.”
PERSONAL TRAINER / After 8 years as a personal trainer in London, Luis admits he really can’t see himself doing anything else: “I start yawning after half an hour at a desk. This job is all about activity – and that’s just the way I like it: dynamic, intense yet uncomplicated.” For Luis, there’s far more to creating the perfect fitness programme than imagination: “You can’t just dream it up. It takes experience, research, lots of training and a willingness to keep learning to create a fitness plan that does all a client hopes it will. “It’s about achieving the right mix, of nutrition, weight management, toning, muscular development and performance. And having a laugh, because you can’t work with these trainers and not enjoy it. They’re all brilliant.”
PERSONAL TRAINER / “This is my second home. I love the clients and the Eqvvs team. It’s an amazing feeling you get from helping people reach their goals. It’s a buzz!” Miad has been enjoying the buzz for over 10 years. Passionate and dedicated, he gets results through setting realistic goals and helping clients meet them through intense, effective workouts and sensible lifestyle management. “I believe a structure helps you reach your targets. It makes more efficient use of your efforts. So we’ll put that in place, and calmly and patiently we’ll work towards it.”
PERSONAL TRAINER / She’s a consultant for leading health and fitness brands. She’s a regular contributor to the industry press. She’s one of the best female personal trainers London has to offer. And she’s a Register of Exercise Professionals accredited training provider. But what really gets trainer, coach and mentor Nicola buzzing are the people who walk through the door at Eqvvs. “I love being a personal trainer. Every day brings something or someone different. I get to meet amazing people every day. I love the banter with clients (and other trainers) and I love achieving results. “There’s something really rewarding about creating a personalised training plan for a client and seeing the difference it makes to them. I guess what I do is progressive, but it’s also fun. It’s always got to be fun.”
PERSONAL TRAINER / There are many things George loves about his work at Eqvvs. The people (trainers and clients) come first. The Spandex and the number of coffee shops nearby come a close second! When we asked George to describe himself he said, “Bubbly, cuddly and soft.” When we asked him to describe his training style he said, “Definite, definite, definite.” George doesn’t take himself too seriously. Which is another reason he loves being a personal fitness trainer at Eqvvs.
